Biography

Kristy Knowles is a Security Research Engineering Technical Leader at Cisco and Chair of the Network Device International Technical Community (ND iTC), where she helps shape the global direction of Common Criteria for network devices.

With over two decades of experience in cybersecurity and networking, Kristy leads the development and evolution of international Protection Profiles, including ongoing work toward NDcPP v4.0, and collaborates closely with NIAP, international schemes, and industry partners to align certification frameworks with emerging security needs.

Her work spans Common Criteria, FIPS, and post-quantum cryptography initiatives, including CNSA 2.0 alignment and crypto modernization strategies for network infrastructure. She is also actively driving efforts to improve efficiency and scalability in certification through automation and AI-assisted workflows.

Kristy is a recognized voice in the Common Criteria community, contributing to multiple technical communities and working groups, and is passionate about modernizing certification to keep pace with real-world cybersecurity threats.
