Andrew Freund

Andrew is the Founder & CEO of Kraken Compliance. He’s been engaged with NIST 800-171, long before the inception of CMMC, leading KPMG’s Federal IT Compliance Program, where he oversaw the implementation and continuous compliance of the firm’s NIST 800-171 & CMMC Compliance Program. As Founder & CEO of Kraken Compliance, Andrew is an industry-leading CMMC expert, providing CMMC Training, Readiness, and pre-assessment services to the Defense Industrial Base. As a Lead CCA, Andrew partners with C3PAOs to lead Assessment teams that conduct CMMC Level 2 Certification Assessments.

Since the inception of CMMC, Andrew has played a vital role in the CMMC Ecosystem, serving on the CMMC Assessment Process (CAP) Committee, tasked with developing the next version of the CAP. He was also a founding member of the CMMC AB’s Quality Assurance Working Group, developing the AB’s Quality Assurance Process & Guide.

Andrew holds an MBA & B.S. in Cyber Security from the University of Maryland, LCCA, CCA, CCP, PI, CISA, CISM, CRISC, RP, & RPA.
