Covid-19 Update

Update March 17, 2021 — CSfC21 TO BE PRESENTED AS A HYBRID EVENT, AUGUST 31

In consultation with the CSfC PMO, conference program committee and the CSfC community, CSfC21 will presented August 31 at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda, MD, USA. The CSfC Conference will be presented as a hybrid (webcast and live) event. Speakers and attendees will have the option to participate live on site, or remotely by webcast. The safety of our participants is always our first concern–the CSfC Conference will follow the CDC’s safe meeting guidelines.

The survey of last year’s CSfC attendees showed that the majority (over 55%) wanted to return to a live event. Given the steady decline in Covid infections and the increase in the pace of vaccination, a return to a live event format is now scheduled for the early fall. For those who are unable to attend in person (for any reason) attendance via the web will be possible. Speakers will be able to make presentations via the web as well.

Update July 17, 2020 — CSfC20 CONFERENCE TO BE PRESENTED VIRTUALLY

Reopening has stalled in Montgomery County, Maryland and it will not be possible for us to hold the CSfC Conference as a face-to-face event at the Bethesda Hyatt. This caution is understandable given the resurgence of Covid-19 in many US states. After reviewing options, the CSfC Conference program committee has decided that the best path forward will be to present the CSfC Conference as a virtual event, which will take place online September 30, 2020. The CSfC Virtual Conference will include live speaker presentations, Q&A, and opportunities for networking, sponsor branding, sponsor presentations, and virtual booths. The CSfC Conference will return to a live event format in the first half of 2021, if progress against the virus permits.

We’ve had many, many requests to make the CSfC Conference virtual and we expect a high level of participation, given the level of interest in the program, combined with the pent up demand from the extended quarantine.
